Resign if you want to join politics, FCT minister tells workers






The FCT Minister, Muhammad Musa Bello, has asked civil servants and political office holders working with the administration who want to contest for political positions in next year’s elections to resign their appointments before contesting.
The minister’s directive was contained in a circular, dated 28th August, 2018, and addressed to all deparments and agencies.
The circular which was signed by the FCT Permanent Secretary, Mr Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa, quoted the minister as directing political appointees and other employees in the FCT Administration who wish to seek elective positions to formally resign from their current positions to enable them pursue their political ambitions.
The circular said, “those affected are expected to handover all government property in their custody to the permanent secretary, upon the submission of their letters of resignation.
“I wish to express the deep appreciation of the FCT Administration to the effected officers and to wish them success in their future endeavours,” the minister said in the circular.
